SKY is widely used in South Korea, both in media broadcast and by the universities themselves.
But today we would like to introduce one of the University called Yonsei Univeristy.
Yonsei was established in 1885 and is one of the oldest universities in South Korea. The history of Yonsei University dates back to 1885 when Horace Newton Allen, the American protestant missionary, established the country’s first modern hospital, Yonsei University is one of most prestigious universities in Korea and has one of the most beautiful campuses in Seoul.
Yonsei University was Korea’s first medical school. In 1923, the school’s name was Yonhui college, which then changed into Yonhui University in 1957. Then, with the merger with Severance Medical School, the school adopted its current name, Yonsei University.
Yonsei University Seoul Campus is composed of Sinchon Campus and International Campus located in Songdo, Incheon. Yonsei University was Korea’s first medical school.
Yonsei is one of Korea’s three “SKY” universities. Admissions are extremely competitive. Inside Korea, admission to a SKY university is widely considered as determining one’s career and social status.
The abundance of trees, the ivy covered European-like buildings, and Cheongsongdae, a romantic walking path for couples, are particularly famous.
