Let’s Get Younger at Boryeong Mud’s Festival

Most of people never like to get wet, dirty, and sticky, but there is one place in Korea is exceptional as ten thousands of people will flock to get wet and dirty in a huge muddy area, it is “Boryeong Mud Festival”. Among numerous festivals in Korea, Boryeong Mud Festival that probably attracts the largest number of foreign tourists.

During the period of Festival, visitors will have a chance to experience beneficial properties of Boryeong’s mud as it is rich in natural minerals, and used to produce cosmetics. It is believed that the mud also can cure skin disease, or even anti-aging. This annual festival was originally aimed to promote the properties of Boryeong’s mud, but now it becomes one of the world renown festival that attracted more than 3 millions of participants from both domestic and foreign visitors, according to the report of CCTV of China in 2014.

There are lots of fun in the festival when people can enjoy mud wrestling, mud sliding and even swimming in the mud mega tub, or people who have energetic, they can try the marine mud-training course. Or for people who love relaxation and spas, they can relax in the mud massage zone. In the evening, for music lovers, they will enjoy K-pop concerts while watching the fireworks and continue with party on the beach.

The festival is annually held at Daecheon Beach in Boryeong during early of July (this year, the festival will be held for 10 days during July 15-24, 2016), Chungcheongnam Province. People can reach Boreyong from Seoul Central City Bus Terminal, and take an express bus to Boryeong, then from Boryeong Bus Terminal, take a bus bound for Daecheon Beach.

Don’t forget that one of properties of Boryeong’s Mud is anti-aging, so “Let’s get younger at Boryeong Mud Festival.”
