Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market 2018

If you are visiting Korea from 2018.03.30 to 2018.10.28, you should pay a visit to Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market! It is a place that opens at night and disappears by morning.


The dokkaebi (goblin), the mascot of Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market, is a familiar figure in
Korean folk culture. The dokkaebi is not cruel to humans; rather, it enjoys dancing, singing
songs, playing games, and performing tricks with its magic bat. The spirit of the dokkaebi
reflects Korea’s strong cultural tradition of humor and appreciation for the arts.

Bamdokkaebi Night Market is held in 6 different places in Seoul, including Yeouido Hangang Park, Banpo Hangang Park, DDP, Cheonggyecheon Stream, Cheonggye Plaza, and Oil Tank Culture Park.


1. Yeouido World Night Market (Every Friday and Saturday, 18:00-22:00)

Held at the Hangang River with sellers from all over the world. You can enjoy exotic foods, special handmade items, and unique performances here with the beautiful nightscape of the Hangang River.

Address: Yeouido Hangang Park, Yeouidong-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul

Subway: Line 5, Yeouinaru Station, Exit 2 (walk approx. 600 meters)


2. Banpo Romantic Moonlight Market (Every Friday and Saturday, 18:00-22:00)

A space filled with beautiful nightscapes,water fountains, light, and music. You can enjoy diverse special events and performances that beautifully merge art, delicious food, and romance.

Address: Banpo Hangang Park, Sinbanpo-ro 11-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul

Subway: Line 3, 7, or 9, Express Bus Terminal Station, Exit 8-1 or 2 / Line 9, Sinbanpo Station, Exit 1 / Line 4 or 9, Dongjak Station, Exit 1 or 2 (nearby)


3. DDP Youth Runway Market (Every Friday and Saturday, 18:00-22:00)

A design market based on the brilliant
and stylish ideas of young artists. A trendy night market where you can discover the incredible talents of young artists and enjoy exciting DJ parties!

Address: Dongdaemun Design Plaza, 281, Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul

Subway: Line 2, 4, or 5, Dongdaemun History & Culture Park, Exit 1 or 2


4. Cheonggyecheon Time Tour Market (Every Saturday and Sunday, 17:00-22:00)

A market for tourists that is filled with uniquely Korean sights and tastes and handmade souvenirs that is both traditionally Korean and modern at the same time. You can also experience traditional Korean culture through the hands-on programs offered all along a street lined with cheongsa chorong (traditional Korean lanterns)!

Address: Gwangtonggyo Bridge (nearby), 14, Seolin-dong, Jongrno-gu, Seoul

Subway: Line 5, Gwanghwamun Station, Exit 5 / Line 1, Jonggak Station, Exit 5 / Line 2, Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station, Exit 2


5. Oil Tank Culture Park Forest Picnic Market (Every Saturday and Sunday, 16:00-21:00)

Based on an environmental conservation and restoration theme,this event is a citizens’ flea market that you can enjoy while having a picnic in the forest amid a pleasant and fun atmosphere! It is a festive space that allows you to buy and sell various items from fellow Seoul citizens, eat delicious food, and watch busking performances!

Address: Oil Tank Culture Park, 87, Jeongsan-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul

Subway: Line 6, World Cup Stadium Station, Exit 2 (approximately walk approx. 10 minutes walk)


6. Cheonggye Plaza Season Market (Every Friday to Sunday, 18:00-23:00)

A place for aspiring entrepreneurs with their sights set on the international market

Address: Cheonggye Plaza, 14-1, Seolin-dong, Jongnro-gu, Seoul

Subway: Line 5, Gwanghwamun Station, Exit 5/ Line 1 or 2, City Hall Station, Exit 4
