[Part 2] Encore! Andong In’l Mask Dance Festival 2016:
Korean Classical Folk Mask dance
It is acknowledged that the Andong region has outstanding historical and cultural sites, such as Hahoe Village. However, the major cultural attraction of Andong is not only the Korean Folk Art Mask Dance Performances, but also variety of the Artistic International Mask Dance Performances which pass along experience programs and is the original mask performance of each foreign invited to join , including original puppet plays, world mask exhibit and mask making and more.
Therefore, let ‘s update annual program of Foreign Maskdance at the Andong Mask Dance Festival in Gyeongsangbuk-do , that will be taken place during September 26 – October 9, 2016.

Primavera, ‘Ani’ which means harvest, is an excellent dance which showcase exciting movements as expression of gratitude for beautiful harvest. It a neo-ethnic dance which utilizes strong techniques and high level of dance skills.

Taiwan Tainan Nanying hometown “Moon-Tianjin Port Bee-rocket-gun ” history and legends as the source of program. First, the lion and children dance to celebrate the feng-city festive. Second, the Great- aunt bless the children. Third, the generals “Guan father” protection. Fourth, the Flower Fairy pray God.

A kerchief is on e of the most important elements in Russian national women’s costume. Judging by the beauty of woman’s kerchief people could define the status of its owner in Russian villages. This dance shows the beauty of Russian young women and the daring of Russian young men.

The love story of Prince Prasuton and Manorah, a female bird with a human head, is a folk literature that has been popular in Thailand. The show will also present an episode of Phran Boon Hunting Manohra in Thai classical dance and the folk Pong Lang Ensemble.

People from four different regions of the world with different cultures, histories, crossed the same path here in Andong, South Korea to unite as one to share love, comfort and peace. This is us, this is who we are and let us share our creativity through our dance with a cheer for “SARANG 4 REGION!!”
Sarang 4 Region is a cultural dance collaboration from 4 countries around the world: Singo Barong of Indonesia, Pangalay of Philippines, Kandyan dancing of Sri Lanka and folk love music from North Vietnam. This collaboration will showcase the difference of music, traditional and contemporary dance forms of each country.
Our dance expose masks and lion dances from each country such as Sinha Bahu of Sri Lanka, Singo Barong of Indonesia, Maskarra of Philippines and Lion Dance of Vietnam where lion represents.
