Have you seen our post on the 10 things you need to do in South Korea? As part of BnBHero’s Bucketlist series, we thought we could introduce 10 must visit places in Jeju Island!

One of the most popular and famous destinations outside of Seoul, here are 10 places that you have to visit!


Seongsang Ilchulbong Peak is a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Located on the Eastern side of Jeju-Island, it is a huge crater that looks like a gigantic crown. It is  a beautiful destination for hiking and walking, and there is even some horse-riding activities that are offered at the Peak!

One of the most famous sites to take photos of sunrises, it is actually open from 4:00am in the summer and 5:00am in the winter!

It is most beautiful in the Spring (especially April), but Seopjikoji was the famous filming site for Korean dramas “Gingko Bed”, “The Uprising” and “One Thousand and One Night”. It has a beautiful view of the coast and is a wonderful place also to book your accommodation during your trip!

jejudo3 U-do island has amazing scenic sites but is also a perfect place to go fishing! With many local heritages that you should check on during your visit, it is actually called Udo Island because it is said to resemble a lying cow.

The white sand beaches is a designated natural monument, and is a famous filming site for many Korean movies and TV commercials!

There are many interesting and exciting activities such as speed boating, jet skiing and sea fishing that can be enjoyed at this location!

The Folk Village is located at the base of Mt. Halla and is a small town that you cannot miss! With Confucian shrines and schools, ancient government offices and large stone statues, the folk village gives you a glimpse into the unique culture and history behind Jeju Island!

It is open 24 hours and there are some incredible sightseeing and eating opportunities in the Folk Village!

Jeju Olle is known as a Healing Trail and there are many variations! With over 18 different routes for you to follow through Jeju-do, it gives you a wonderful time of quiet reflection amongst amazing scenery and a great way of enjoying some of the unique nature on Jeju Island!

Because the olle trails take you around the island we did not list it on our google map, because there is no exact “one spot” destination! 


The word Haenyeo refers to female divers who give into the ocean- Jeju-do is famous for their women who dive into the ocean and harvest delicious and fresh seafood!

In order to respect and identify this unique activity, the island established the Jeju Haenyeo Museum! There is a exhibition hall that gives you a glimpse into the traditional haenyeo’s life and home, as well as other exhibitions that explains and depicts and fishing industry culture.

Eco Land Theme Park is a great opportunity for visitors to experience Jeju Island! There is a beautiful Baldwin Train that can give you a tour of the theme park, and you can see and experience a variety of plants, animals and insects by touring around on the special train.

The Gotjawal Forest is a mysterious and primitive forest of Mt. Halla.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is open to visitors and boasts exquisite landscapes! It has a unique volcanic topography and vegetation distribution that gives it the unique physical features, and it is open all year round (as long as the weather is not particularly nasty!)

It is a beautiful hiking destination with several different types of trails, so you will never get bored! Some of the most famous photos of Jeju Island is from Hallasan (or Mt Halla), so be sure it check it out when you can!

The mountain operates on strict opening and closing hours to ensure that all visitors make it down before sunset, so it is sometimes better to visit in the summer because then it has much longer opening hours!

Jusangjeolli are stone pillars that pile up along the coast and is a designated cultural monument of Jejudo Island. It was formed when the lava from the mountain Halla erupted in the sea, creating these unique cube like pillars of different sizes!

This is a very popular spot that is open all year round for visitors, and due to its extreme cliff height provides breathtaking photo opportunities of the ocean and the waves crashing into the side of the cliff!

There are over 600 different kinds of camellia from all over the world located on this “hill”! It is a popular destination to visit every month of the year because different camellia bloom in different seasons!

While each flower has its own meaning, the Camellia means “I love only you”. What a romantic intent!

So whether you go with your significant other or alone, this is a MUST VISIT destination!
